When the Silhouette plugin is correctly installed, two new icons will appear in the tool palette:

The left-hand icon contains the palette with tools for vectorising and extracting colors:

This palette contains the tools for:
 • vectorizing
 • extracting the colors of color images

The right hand icon contains the palette with correction tools:
This palette contains the tools for:
 • righting the logo
 • sharpening corners
 • aligning points, deleting unnecessary points, converting "flat" curves into straight lines
 • smoothing curves
 • simplifying curves while retaining their appearance

The interface consists of a contextual palette as well as a preview window.
In order to show the palettes, activate "Show Silhouette Tools Settings" and "Show Silhouette Preview" from the "Window" menu of Illustrator.

The content of this palette changes depending on the tool selected.

Enlarges the preview

The correction tools can be used in different ways:
 • by selecting the points and clicking on the correction button.
 • by clicking on the search button and then the correction button.
 • by selecting the points to be corrected while holding the Option or Alt key () down.

The preview window displays an enlargement of the selected area so that the correction can be controlled properly. A red frame in the document shows the area that is previewed.
